Who should be involved?
Well-defined responsibilities and a clear understanding of the level of support needed for the project to succeed is an important consideration from the outset. An effective sustainable procurement strategy should not solely draw from the experience of the purchasing or procurement teams.
An important question to consider is therefore who will be involved, both in developing and contributing to a policy and strategy, and also driving it. This exercise will also help identify the business needs and its desired outcomes.
